The photos are photos of me after reconstruction in the 1980s. Before these were taken I had a mastectomy in 1968 at age 22. I also had about 3 sets of the "newer, better implants." The newer, better ones got "hard" and "painful" and had to be replaced. The implants in these photos were the Meme.
The dark hole is the implant breaking through the skin.
Shows 2nd stage, about 7 days.
Implant shell can be seen, poly cover dissolved.
This is a side view of the implant. It has buldged out of the pocket.
Shows 3rd stage..about 10 days.
Implant popped out on its own two days after the photo.
Shows Tram flap..abdominal skin, muscle, and blood supply brought up from abdominal area to "create" a new breast...new belly botton, as old one is removed.
This was done because after the implant popped out, the area would not heal and I had a "hole" in my chest for over 2 years. This was done as a last resort.
The flap was reduced in size in a second operation. The "bellybutton" had to be done over too. Also a third operation for hernia, from hip to hip.
